SignCascade UD builds education tools and apps grounded in universal design (UD), so that everyone can learn more easily. We also publish primary-source research on accessibility topics — including this ongoing survey of sign-language interpreter pay across Japan.
For about 12 years I taught English at a school for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, and I have also worked in education for students with physical disabilities.
My specialty is education that uses Japanese Sign Language, American Sign Language (ASL) vocabulary, and fingerspelling. As part of educational support I spent roughly ten years involved in hearing-aid fitting, and I have led teacher training on audiology. I also served for many years as the operations lead for a certified test venue of the EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency).
My motto is simple: tools that actually work in the classroom. Everything here is built from hands-on experience in the field.
