Before You Start
Koe Palette can generate original icon images for your buttons using Google Gemini AI. To use this feature, you need a free "API key." This page walks you through getting one.

Step 1: Open Google AI Studio
Tap the link below to open Google AI Studio.

Step 2: Sign in with your Google account
Sign in with your Google account. If you do not have one, you can create it for free.
Step 3: Create the API key
- Click the "Create API Key" button
- If a screen asks you to choose a project, select "Create API key in new project"
- Your API key is generated (a long string of letters and numbers)
Step 4: Copy the API key
Tap the "Copy" button next to the generated API key to copy it.
⚠️ Caution: Never share your API key with anyone. If it leaks, it can be used without your permission.
Step 5: Paste it into Koe Palette
- Open "⚙ Settings" in Koe Palette
- Tap the "🔒 Manage" tab
- Paste the copied key into the "API Key" field in the "🤖 AI Settings" section
- Tap the "Connection test" button to check the connection
- When "✅ Connection OK" appears, you are done
How to Use It
- Tap "✏ Edit" at the top right of the screen to enter edit mode
- Press and hold a button, then choose "Change icon"
- Tap "🤖 AI generate"
- A cute icon is generated automatically based on the button's label
About the Free Tier
The Google Gemini API includes a free tier. For icon generation in Koe Palette, the free tier is plenty for normal use.
Troubleshooting
If "❌ Invalid API key" appears
- Check that the API key was copied correctly (no extra spaces)
- Check that you are connected to the internet
- Check that the API key is active in Google AI Studio
